NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-- Aaron Todd has been named as Sports Information Director at Merrimack College by interim athletic director Chris Serino.
Todd took over for Tom O’Brien, who has been named the college's Assistant Athletic Director for compliance, on Jan. 3.
Todd comes to Merrimack from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where he was the SID for a year and a half. While at Bates, Todd covered 30 varsity sports, helped redesign the athletics Web site and served as the host SID for the 2004 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships.
A native of Canton, N.Y., Todd graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2000 and was a member of the men's cross country and track and field teams. He was a member of the sports information department at his alma mater for two years. While at St. Lawrence, Todd worked with the NCAA runner-up women's basketball team in 2001-02, served as the host SID for the semifinal and championship rounds at the 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship and covered the NCAA Division I women’s hockey team during the 2002-03 season.
Todd will handle media relations duties for the Warriors' NCAA Division I men's hockey team. Dave Rourke will continue as the assistant sports information director for the college.
