Half way through the season you've got to think the staff's identified their starting 5 and the first few people off the bench. (Sorry, I grew up on hoop :-) The deep bench is not less valuable--they just play a different support role--in practice and being ready to go. Their time will come. Look Justin Bonitatibus last year.

Don't forget, it IS college and you never know (and it's not our place to probe) one or more of these guys may not be eligible to play second semester.

There are other mixed messages being sent in my opinion, but that is the nature of this game.

I have a feeling this team was taken to task yesterday after a real bad loss to FSU. They're a very good team, but MC was handled with ease, as if they were a second-tier team.

Maine, this Sat., will tell us a lot.

And maybe there were more changes planned for the Ferris game, but remember, this team put in one of the gutsiest performances it has in a long time against Wisc. in the first game. Why change the entire structure of the lineup coming off such an effort?

Also, I'm not positive everyone even traveled. In the past, not every player traveled; you would bring people who are playing plus 2 or 3 scratches. Everyone would be listed as a scratch on the line chart, but that doesn't mean they traveled. That may have changed now. When I was at MC, it was to save a $ on travel costs, I'm sure.

Badger Classic

I was wondering if someone knows why at least 5 of the players who travelled to Wisconsin this past weekend were not in the lineup for either game?? The butt kicking the team took on Sunday tells me that no one on this squad deserves to play two games while others play none. As a team building trip this has to be considered a failure in my opinion. Once you have defined that there are first class, second class, and third class status on any team you are set up to fail. The lessons learned during the "Judgement Day" exercise at the beggining of this season are meaningless after a weekend of exhibition play where not all players enjoyed the same priviledges. Were the players being punished for some reason?
